1) I found a pair of Gloria Vanderbilt jeans at the local thrift store for $5.00. This is one of my favorite brands of jeans just simply because they fit my weird proportions.
2) They were having a sale, so the actual cost was $2.50.
3) They were a size too small, but I bought 'em anyway, because I'm trying to lose weight.
4) THEY FIT!!!!!!
Glee.
Now if I could just find a coat that I can zip over my, uh, girls, and which fits my shoulders, without having a huge gap at the waist that lets icky cold drafts in, I'll be really happy. My good polarfleece jacket got stolen and I've been looking for a replacement for a month that will fit. Grr. I'm going to the outlet mall today and I'm going to hit Sports Authority's outlet up and see if I can't find another one like it.

I haven't seen this movie yet. However, am I the only Gargoyles fan going, "Princess Tiana is not Disney's first black heroine!" She's the first animated feature-film princess, but she's definitely not the first black Disney heroine.
Elisa Maza was black/Native American (so I guess you could disqualify her on technical grounds), but they had an entire 72-episode series with Elisa in every single episode in a very starring role.
But, hey, Disney seems to want to ignore the fact that Gargoyles ever happened for any one of a multitude of reasons. Plus the headlines proclaiming "first black heroine!" will sell the movie better than "it's about a girl who gets turned into a frog!"
I've also seen a few threads here and there by people going, "Disney should have had a black heroine a long time ago! It's about time!" ... LOL.
(Hey, at least if Disney continues to ignore Elisa's existence, I'll be spared the horror of a Disney Princess Elisa.)

Packing is like half done. It's more completely mentally than physically. It's mostly because I've been waiting on a couple auctions to finish. Now that they're done I can pack up the computer and put it in the suitcase. I'm bringing a huge suitcase but that's because I don't want to pay $30 extra effing dollars for a second bag. I'm already paying $20 for one as it is. Urgh.
Because I'll only have half of my stuff as it is, it's tough trying to figure out what I'll need or not need or things like that. I'll be getting some stuff while I'm up there, too, so that's cool. I'll have to find some thrifty stores up there. I might get some stuff from Ikea, too. It depends on my transportation. In any case, at least there's some stuff up there. Books and glasses. I can read and drink. XD
Please, please, PLEASE self, do not get sick again. I just got over something and yet my head is still being wonky. I think the headaches are from the weather. I can only hope it's not a strain of something sinus-y.
I'll be tweeting tomorrow's excitement, so I apologize ahead for the spam.
So, I bid you adieu from Ohio and will see you again in THE GREAT WHITE NORTH. Eh!

I am actually starting to get Christmas-y early this year- I even have some presents wrapped!- because I want to be in the holiday spirit this year. It's probably because last year was The Year Without A Christmas for our family (for various stupid reasons), so we need to jam-pack two years of yuletide goodness into one.
Also, I bought the best present for someone yesterday. Epic presentry. I hope that the recipient enjoys it liek woah. ^_^

I just realised that my journal is full of nothing but youtube videos and complaints about the weather. What. I've been too busy, Iunno, frolicking in my RP journal or something. |D
Errr, I'll get back to posting something of vague substance soon, I promise. And answering comments. And ...writing Misconduct. (That's work's fault. They keep sending me these freaking 120 page things to type, I dun wanna write fic on top of that.) And finish all my outstanding AMVs and stuff, and ...how stupid is it that I'm tempted to make an AMV for a RP game? I mean, whut? That would be ludicrously impossible anyway.
Anyway. On the subject of the weather, spring has finally remembered what spring weather is meant to be and it's been really nice. We still don't look forward to summer, but at least we have some cool days between now and then. And on the subject of everything else, I am late for drunken geekery at the local pub so am fleeing now. But I do still exist between Youtube posts and stuff. Honest.
In fact, feel free to comment here to abuse me and/or ask me to like ...get back around to doing something or answering something I've forgotten. <3

THEY ARE SHOWING SPACE CASES IN FRENCH ON A FRENCH-LANGUAGE KIDS TV CHANNEL AND I KNOW ABOUT IT BUT CANNOT GET TO IT AAAAAAAARGH.

So I am trying everything save from hopping a plane to France. Perhaps I should start making friends of French/Belgian people with DVRs very quickly. It only runs once a day on weekdays, so I have a bit of time but not much and I just realized that it is 3:30AM and I should be in bed. So. If any of you have the key to the mystery, I will trade a bag of nougat and the limb of your choice for it. And does satellite TV on the PC work? I do not know, but I may find out soon.
EDIT (11/30/09 2:38AM): I have found out they are also showing it in Germany, Spain, and Portugal. Finding out which channel runs the KidsCo block in each of these nations is a near impossible task. The closest I have gotten is Spain. I missed today episode, though. Damn.
This is not at "mission" priority yet, but it is very close. More of a "waaaaaaant" item.

So I had a dream last night wherein I got a phone call from someone from college. We started talking and I asked him how he was, etc, the general small talk. He told me he was doing well and then talk proceeded to things we were doing. I asked him how his latest project was and he went off on me about how I should stop asking him because he knows I'm just going to steal his ideas. I said no, it's that I'm interested in the same things and that I wanted to support him with stuff. The phone goes silent, but I can tell by the sounds that he's crying on the other end. I feel bad about it, but it was nice to know he cared, right? And then he says he's just bought a new house and that I should visit for a few days or something. Then I had to end the call.
The rest of the dream was cool because it was SNL tryouts in this weird circus-like atmosphere and I got to see Kristin Wiig doing a performance and I was taking notes. I remember thinking to write in my notes, Comedy is all about steps.
Note: the subject line was part of the sketch. Which was funny.
Not sure what today brings. I want to go shopping because some deals end today and I have coupons. On the other hand, I need to see if my sinus infection- confirmed yesterday at the doctor's, got antibiotics- will let me. This may be the Day of Drainage but I'm not sure. Yuck.

...I have come to the conclusion that someone has laced my couch with a powerful sedative. I can't sit on it for 10 minutes without falling asleep. >_>

Last night I had an amazing time eating an early Thanksgiving dinner with my friends and watching Perfect Strangers. Haha, I totally forgot that there was a cheesy what-did-we-learn dialogue at the end of every episode. The food was amazing and I ate way too much. It was really good turkey!
So, I woke up in the middle of the night with my throat absolutely burning and hurting; I seriously thought it was going to close up.
Illness has hit me! And at the time I expected, too... but no, go away quickly! I need to get things done! Please just leave? (I need good thoughts, so think one for me kudasai.)
I slept the majority of the day and spent the evening lazing and putting things on eBay. I don't want to to any more eBaaaaaaay. I'd like the money, but if nothing sells it wasn't worth it and so... I don't know. I've got one more week to do it and then kaput! I'm done. Argh, I think I should just go to sleep.
